Reading Club – 2nd-3rd Grade

Course Description In this course, students will read 5 carefully selected picture books and 1-2 children chapter books (depending on class progress). This course’s main goal is to lead students to engage with different story morals and respond thoughtfully and logically to these messages. In addition, students will learn efficient reading habits, and critical thinking. Each class will be divided between fun activities focusing the story logic, moral, vocabulary, and basic rhetorical devices. Students will learn to identify and respond to a story’s theme, helping them to build a solid foundation for advanced reading requirements. There will also be writing activities weaved into the class to help students practice their newly learned skills.
