4th Grade Reading and Writing 英文精读与写作



Course Description The program is designed for students in 4th grade which allows them to closely read and analyze age-appropriate classic literature. In these classes, students will study these literature thoughtfully and critically, pick up significant details and identify patterns, and develop a deep and precise understanding of the form, craft, and meaning of a text. Our highly experienced teacher then trains the students to incorporate what they learned from close reading into their own writing.
Teacher Ms. Aliza from Brighter Bee Academy

Ms. Aliza has proudly been an educator for the past 15 years in New York City. She has been with a top 2 gifted and talented school for the last 13 years. She has earned a Masters in Elementary Education from Hunter College, and a Masters in Literacy Education from Mercy College. Aliza is so excited to begin this new endeavor where she looks forward to making the bees at Brighter Bee Academy even brighter!

Grade This course is appropriate for 4th grade students.

This class has a maximum of 6 students.

Fridays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

13 sessions from September to December (No class during the week of 11/22  due to Thanksgiving break.)

Course Objectives
  • Retell, in sequence, the important details from the beginning, middle, and end of each story
  • Identify the main events in story, and explain why with answers that reflects logical thinking
  • Understand the authors’ message and purpose of writing the story, and support his/her conclusion with details
  • Apply new vocabulary, phrases and writing techniques to their own writing
