We use “马立平 一年级” MLP series Chinese books as our textbooks. The content of this course mainly consists of five parts: reviewing the knowledge learned with the interactive games; introducing new topics by pictures or songs and encourage students to share their current knowledge about the text; Learning new characters and phrase, build a solid base for students to understand Chinese radicals and how to use them; Practicing how to use the phrases and the words to make sentences in their own way; Extending the content from the textbook with more cultural or historic stories.
Students will acquire Chinese language and culture through games, stories, self-reading and interaction within the ACTFL (The American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages) framework.
