| Course Description | Young Explorers is a one-year theme-based program that incorporates language games, stories, songs, content-based activities such as science experiments, and seasonal and cultural topics related to children’s daily lives. Young Explorers is a fully immersive Mandarin Chinese program, with a focus on development of speaking and listening skills. Class will meet once a week for 50 minutes. 中文历险家课程是主题教学课程(一年课程)。老师会根据这个年龄段小朋友的兴趣和需求介绍和小朋友生活学习相关的主题。通过这些主题,老师会帮助小朋友掌握相关词汇和常用句型,并根据主题进行拓展活动与练习,实现跨学科概念学习。本课程每周一次课,每节课50分钟。 |

Ms. Wang graduated from Teachers College, Columbia University, majored in Bilingual/Bicultural Education. Ms. Wang has a lot of teaching experience previously, She is a Chinese instructor in iCanMandarin school, she used to teach at P.S.20, one of the public primary schools in New York City as a third-grade bilingual classroom teacher. Besides teaching, Ms. Wang also gained a lot of research experience as a Research Assistant at Harvard University in 2017. |

| Class Detail | Student-Centered Learning: Our classrooms are carefully designed to maximize students’ learning experience. Students have plenty of opportunities to interact with their teacher and peers. They will also engage in small group or one-on-one learning activities and games. • Immersive Methods: Theme-based activities, stories, games, art/science social studies projects that suit students’ age level and developmental level. • Expertise: Our diverse and professional team has extensive expertise in curriculum development, teaching, and education. • Advanced programs: Students can continue to move to the next level (Shuangshuang Chinese and Intensive Chinese Literacy) after they finish the 1-year Young Explorer program. |
